Victoria Monét is giving her bottom (and self-esteem) a boost on her new song, “Ass Like That.”
Produced by D’Mile (Lucky Daye, Usher) and BREGMA, the well-textured track serves as an ode to women who want to enhance their backside — the natural way.
Speaking to Apple Music about the new track, Monét shared that’s “a celebration of being fit, but it’s also about self-improvement and empowerment.”
She continued, “As a rap fan, I’ve always loved the cadence and beats they use. But the lyrics take power away from women talking about their own bodies because they’re commenting on our body parts. It’s a message for a woman to sing about it and take back control.”
Monét accompanied the empowering new track with a bum-friendly lyric video.
“Ass Like That” is the first solo offering from Monét since 2018’s “New Love.” Following the latter track and the sequel to Life After Love EP, the singer-songwriter collaborated with Ariana Grande on “Monopoly.”
On November 1, Monét will appear on the Grande-fronted Charlie’s Angels soundtrack. The star-studded album will also feature Normani, Chaka Khan, Nicki Minaj, and more.
