As the nationwide quarantine goes on, Kali Uchis emerges from her music slumber to release a new EP titled To Feel Alive.
The unexpected project of self-produced material that the melodic songstress engineered in her bedroom runs tens minutes and four tracks long.
Musically, To Feel Alive thrives on mellowed-out and ambitious energy that falls in line with dreamy R&B.
Uchis makes it clear on social media that To Feel Alive is not her follow-up to 2018’s Isolation. She labels it as an EP for her babies until she decides to drop her next proper album.
In the midst of her break in solo rotation, Uchis released the ambient bilingual track “Solite.” The soul siren also collaborated with Little Dragon (“Are You Feeling Sad,” “Hold On”) and Kaytranada (“10%”).
