On the heels of her debut album, singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez has dropped the visual for the fan-favorite track “Same Side.”
In the video, directed by Peter Huang, Reyez is a contract killer hired for the murder of her lover. However, things take a turn when she can’t bring herself to finish the job.
The dark video shows Reyez in a vulnerable state. Unable to carry out the murder, she shows forgiveness before her lover turns the gun on her.
“You’re such an asshole, but I see a prince / And I’m a good girl, but you see a bitch / I wanna make love, you wanna burn a bridge / So I wish I was a bad guy / So we could just be fighting on the same side,” Reyez croons on the track.
