Brian McKnight is gearing up to close a chapter in his music career. The R&B legend has announced his new album, Exodus, will arrive on June 26 via The SoNo Recording Group LLC. According to McKnight, Exodus will be his final project release of all original material.
The new album follows 2017’s Genesis and its deluxe edition released less than a year later. Exodus includes the intoxicating “‘42 (Grown Up Tipsy),” the soothing “Neva Get Enuf of U,” the tender “When I’m Gone” and the deep “Nobody.”
Along with the Exodus release date, McKnight has put out the new song called “Bad.” Treated like a sophisticated cat call to a woman he wants to be more than a tease, McKnight handles the lines in the vocal key of early Stevie Wonder.
“And that’s why I’ll wait for you / But only for you / And that’s why I’m willin’ to jump through every hoop / That you put me through,” he coos.
