Aaron Taylor is at home with retro-soul and bold R&B on his dazzling debut album ICARUS.
At 11 tracks and running 35 minutes, the British singer/songwriter, a true romanticist, celebrates the many facets of strong Black love. Having a particular flair for conveying distinct love experiences in an honest manner, Taylor has finely crafted an exceptional debut worth playing over and over.
ICARUS was led by the melodramatic tune “Don’t Leave Me Alone” featuring soul royalty Lalah Hathaway. Taylor followed the era’s leadoff track with the distorted soul tune “Shooting Star,” the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony-esque “Be My Muse” and the lush and rosy “Flowers.”
“All I hope for is that there’ll be at least one song that makes you smile, nod your head, do a stank face, shed a tear, not give up, chase your dreams and FLY,” Taylor wrote on Instagram about the perfect listener reaction for ICARUS.
Taylor will support his debut album with a 2021 tour, beginning on April 23. Get dates and ticket details here.
