Usher is giving fans a pleasing flashback of his EDM days on a new song titled “Too Much.” The track arrives with a music video, which can be watched above.
Teaming up with famed masked electronic DJ/producer Marshmello and Kazakh producer and remixer Imanbek, the global R&B superstar glides his masterful vocals over heart-racing synths and a bass-heavy drum pattern to assure his low-spirited lady that nothing can stand in the way of getting close to her — rain or shower.
“I hate the thought of you with tears in your eyes / And I hate the thought of losing you, you to the lies / By the way you’re talkin’, something ain’t right / And I know that you’re tired,” Usher sings on the bridge.
Most recently, Usher made an appearance as Germane D. in the horror satire Bad Hair on Hulu.
Leading up to his cameo in the Hulu original film, Usher collaborated with Kiana Ledé for a new holiday track called “This Day.” The song is attached to the upcoming Netflix film, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, which premieres on November 13.
Usher, whose latest single “Bad Habits” is steadily rising within the top 10 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart, is gearing up for a 2021 Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Find out how you can get tickets here.
