The Love King is back. Raheem DeVaughn has returned with his eighth studio album, What A Time To Be In Love.
Produced exclusively by The Colleagues, What A Time To Be In Love takes listeners on a beautiful voyage that is filled with passion. On seductive songs like “Mr. Midnight” and “Deep Deep,” DeVaughn delivers his signature silky vocals that are bound to have two lovers entangled between the sheets.
DeVaughn goes from the bedroom to the streets on “Marvin Used To Say” and “Lawd Help Me” featuring Mike Phillips and Doug E. Fresh, where he brings light to social issues that specifically affect the Black community.
In a statement, DeVaughn described What A Time To Be In Love as “nostalgic vibes that not only speak to the consciousness and social climate on the world but also to the lover in you.”
The Colleagues told Rated R&B, “When Raheem and I talked about creating the album, we both made sure it included elements that we both thought were important. We needed to make sure we made songs for the culture that speak to the times we are all going through. The spoken word was also a must for me — I love spoken word. Lastly, we needed what his fans love him for, bedroom bangers. This album was extra important for me as a producer because of the creative control he gave me.”
What A Time To Be In Love is the follow-up to DeVaughn’s 2019 LP, The Love Reunion.
