Entertainment One (eOne) has announced its overall television deal with singer/actress Keke Palmer. The company will manage worldwide rights and serve as the studio on all projects under the partnership.
“I am thrilled to be partnering with eOne to create entertaining, meaningful, fun television experiences that will deeply connect with audiences and be reflective of our current world,” Palmer said in a press release. “eOne’s commitment to allowing talent to bring their unique lens and lead the storytelling process made them an ideal partner for me.”
EOne’s President of Global Television Michael Lombardo, added, “As a woman of many talents, Keke has made a lasting impression on audiences all over the world. We are thrilled to be collaborating with her on several upcoming projects and are excited to see what next she has in store.”
The multi-hyphenate entertainer has some exciting projects in the works. She will star opposite Daniel Kaluuya in a highly secretive film directed by Jordan Peele. At this time, there are no details on the plot or what Palmer’s specific role will be other than a leading one.
In the meantime, Palmer is working on voice-over projects for Disney+’s reboot of The Proud Family and Netflix’s Human Resources, a spinoff of its hit show Big Mouth.
Palmer will star in the upcoming Audible Original comedy podcast, Hit Job, opposite Pete Davidson. According to a press release, Hit Job follows Brynn Morris (Palmer), an aspiring artist desperate for a job to help her ailing grandmother. It set to premiere on April 12.
If you thought Palmer was busy enough, she isn’t. She just finished filming a historical thriller called Alice with Common and Johnny Lee Miller.
“I wanted to create something that would allow people a bit of an escape during all of the high intense things that we are experiencing right now,” Palmer said about Pt. 1.
As for Pt. 2, she added, “It’s a little bit more of the reflective vibe that I kind of reached at the end of quarantine.”
