Grammy-nominated produced Charlie Heat has linked up with Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Ant Clemons for his new single “Ladylike.”
Over a guitar-laden production that is supported by a thumping bass line, Clemons sings about his part-time lover who is a lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets.
“You don’t talk, you don’t speak / But you listen to me / You a boss in the streets / Comin’ home for a week / Nasty, nasty, this shit ain’t ladylike / Nasty, nasty, do it all ladylike / Know how I like it,” he sings.
“Ladylike” will appear on Heat’s upcoming album, Valentine’s Son, which drops on April 9. The compilation project will feature appearances from Sevyn Streeter, Yuna, Gemaine, Aria Bléu and more.
The album, named after Heat’s mother Valentine, will explore different types of love and how they all connect. Though Heat is known for his work in hip-hop (Kanye West, Lil Uzi Vert), the album is said to be more R&B-focused.
“I’ve always been known for the energy I bring to my beats in hip-hop, so I wanted to give my fans a different experience with my art through R&B,” Heat said in a press statement.
Valentine’s Son will follow Heat’s 2019 album, Fireworks. The project featured his Syd-assisted jam “Have A Good Time.”
