After accepting the Legend Award at Sunday’s Soul Train Awards, Maxwell has released a video for his new single “Off.”
Reuniting with acclaimed director Philip Andelman, who directed visuals for “Pretty Wings” and “Lake by the Ocean,” Maxwell, suited in a dapper look, makes an uninhibited desert his stage following his way out of a dusted car.
As the sun starts to set and Maxwell continues to roam aimlessly, green-lit scenes find him and a chocolate beauty making things hot and steamy in a parked ride.
Maxwell gave the first televised performance of “Off” during his memorable medley of epic hits at the Soul Train Awards. The lead single from his forthcoming LP blacksummers’NIGHT, out in 2022 via his imprint Musze / BMG, has reached No. 17 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart after two weeks.
For the new album, Maxwell is embarking on a headlining Night Tour with special guests Joe and Anthony Hamilton. The U.S. arena tour kicks off on March 2, 2022.
