No stranger to exploring the sensual vibe, Kenyon Dixon comes forth with his latest song, “Love On Replay” with Tiffany Gouché.
Courtesy of Ye Ali, Buddafly Wolf, and Frank Rose, the song’s production sounds modern and nostalgic. Dixon sings about how his lover is everything he could ever imagine, leaving such an impression on him that keeps her constantly on his mind.
“All the things I often dream of / You bring them to life / Love on replay / Have me your way / Every single time,” Dixon croons.
Gouché keeps with this same lovesick subject matter while adding an engaging flair to the song.
An advocate of rooting for artists holding down the fort and maintaining the integrity of R&B, Dixon shuts down any chatter about the current state of the genre with his latest record.
Dixon tells Rated R&B, “There’s still a lot of talk about the validity of solid R&B from modern artists, and I figured what better way to combat that conversation than to just put it out and remind us all that classic R&B records can still be produced today; ‘Love on Replay’ is that.”
“Love On Replay” is both Dixon’s and Gouché’s first release of the year.
At the end of 2021, Dixon, alongside Donate Winslow, put out an EP titled Expectations: An R&B Symphony. It featured Alex Isley and Jade Novah. He also shared a one-off track, “Morning After.”
Dixon was also pinned to several collaborations, one of which was a cover of Sam Cooke’s “Bring It On Home To Me.” It gained him a pending 2022 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance. He shares the nod with frequent collaborator PJ Morton, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Charlie Bereal.
In 2021, Gouché had a relatively quiet year in music, appearing on only one song, Robert Glasper’s “Shine,” with D Smoke.
