The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige has teamed up with R&B sensation H.E.R. for a remix of her latest single, “Good Morning Gorgeous.”
On the updated version, Blige and H.E.R. take turns singing lyrics from the original song. H.E.R. also contributes ad-libs to the track, which she co-produced with D’Mile.
“Good Morning Gorgeous” is the title track to Blige’s 15th studio album, which is out now. The song, which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, was co-written by D’Mile, H.E.R., Lucky Daye and Tiara Thomas.
Blige’s A&R Eddie Fourcell exclusively described to Rated R&B the studio session for “Good Morning Gorgeous.”
He revealed, “That was probably, of my career working, the fastest written record ever.”
“There was a purpose and an intention in that session, and everyone was professionally a great musician. It was no playing around. H.E.R. on the bass, Lucky [Daye] on the melodies, and Tiara [Thomas] helping out. It was just so magical. It came about in literally two hours.”
Good Morning Gorgeous includes features from Usher, Anderson .Paak, Fivio Foreign, DJ Khaled and Dave East.
In June, Blige will headline the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jazmine Sullivan and Summer Walker are also at the top of the bill.
Before that, Blige will host her inaugural Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit in Atlanta, Georgia. The sold-out event will occur during Mother’s Day weekend (May 6-8). Chaka Khan, Xscape, Queen Naija, Kiana Ledé, Sevyn Streeter and more are slated to perform.

“I’m so grateful to all of the performers, vendors, and participants for committing themselves to our inaugural event and I am so excited to do this in a city that has been rocking with me since the very beginning of my career,” said Blige.
“I am proud to create this with my sisters and I look forward to an undeniably beautiful and special experience.”
