Summer Walker has found a friend and collaborator in Cardi B. After a pep talk from the Grammy winner rapper on the lead song (“Bitter”) to her sophomore album Still Over It, Walker has called on her again for the extended version of “No Love” featuring SZA.
Cardi B kicks things off, sporting a lithe vocal to convey her feelings about getting her ex back for breaking her heart. Walker and SZA keep their verses intact.
As promised, Walker rolled out the new version of “No Love” with a music video directed by Lacey Duke.
Earlier this month, the original version of “No Love” impacted urban radio stations and was named the most-added song. The duet, which Walker co-produced, has entered the top 30 on the format.
Walker is two albums into a promising career. Still Over It, ranked one of Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2021, arrived at number one in its first week on the Billboard 200.
The set made headlines as her first project to achieve this feat and the first since Solange’s 2016’s A Seat at the Table.
In addition to Cardi B and SZA, features on Still Over It included Ari Lennox, Ciara, The Neptunes, Omarion, Lil Durk, and JT of City Girls.
The latter act starred on the album’s lead single “Ex For A Reason,” which had a co-songwriting and co-production credit from Sean Garrett.
Walker is currently performing across the nation on an abbreviated tour. Dubbed The Summer Walker Series, the limited-engagement trek includes standalone dates and her festival appearances such as Sol Blume Festival and Broccoli City Festival.
Walker is also slated to perform at Roots Picnic 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in June.
As for SZA, nominated for five 2022 Grammys, she has the number one song in the country on urban radio with “I Hate U.” The certified gold single expected to appear on her unannounced sophomore album.
