John Legend has dropped a video for “Honey,” the Muni Long-assisted single from his forthcoming album on Republic Records.
The Christian Breslauer-directed video picks up where Legend’s house party-themed video for “Dope” left off.
It sees Legend lying on the floor of his now-messy home, surrounded by everything imaginable, including bees. Waking up from his toasted slumber, Legend walks to a wall that features a portrait of Long. Behind it is a wall covered in honeycomb. In peeling the wallpaper back, Legend discovers Long in a clawfoot tub, looking sweet enough to eat.
“Honey,” the current radio single from Legend, was released on June 17. In the latest placements (July 9) of Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, the sticky bedroom jam has reached No. 21.

Legend’s upcoming eighth album will follow his 2020 LP, Bigger Love.
“I’m so thrilled to be releasing new music,” said Legend. “The past year or so has been so exciting for me creatively. I have been writing and collaborating with some of the most talented people in music, and we have some great new material to share with the world.”
In an Apple Music interview with Eddie Francis, Legend revealed that Long, along with Jazmine Sullivan, Jhené Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign, Rapsody, and Rick Ross, will appear on the untitled new album. More on the album here.
Next month, Legend embarks on the second leg of his Las Vegas residency at Zappos Theater. It runs Aug. 5 through Oct. 29.
Long released Public Displays of Affection Too, the second installment of her 2021 project, on July 1. The five-track set featured the urban radio smash “Another” and the Saweetie-guested track “Baby Boo.” The music video for the latter track is soon to come.
In June, Long made her BET Awards debut when she performed the platinum-selling single “Hrs and Hrs.” She was nominated for Best New Artist.
