Ronald Isley and The Isley Brothers appear in the top 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this week (Sept. 10). “Make Me Say It Again, Girl,” the remake of their 1975 classic featuring Beyoncé, grabs the No. 10 spot in its fourth week.

The remake marks The Isley Brothers’ first top ten single since “Contagious,” 21 years ago. The song, lifted from their 2001 album Eternal, topped the Adult R&B list for two weeks in September 2001.

They were close to entering this region in 2021 with “Friends & Family” featuring Snoop Dogg. However, the feel-good song peaked at No. 13 in the Sept. 11 issue.

Ronald’s last top ten as a solo act was “My Favorite Thing” in February 2014. The Kem-assisted song reached No. 5. It appeared on Ronald’s 2013 set This Song’s For You and Kem’s 2014’s effort Promise To Love.

Beyoncé grabs her eighth top 10 hit on the Adult R&B Airplay chart “Make Me Say It Again, Girl.” She returned to the number one spot for the first time in a decade with “Break My Soul.”

Co-produced and co-written by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, the house track reigned for two weeks. It appears on her seventh studio album, Renaissance, available now.

Ronald revealed to Billboard that Beyoncé recorded her vocals during the time she was working on her new album, Renaissance, last year.

His wife Kandy, who is also his road manager and former member of R&B duo JS, credits Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, for playing an essential role in making the remake happen.

“Tina Knowles-Lawson [Beyoncé’s mother] was very influential in getting this record started and getting it to the point where we are now,” Kandy told Billboard.

“She has a love for the Isley Brothers and her daughter grew up listening to this type of music. All we can say is that God’s hands was on this whole project. And the fact that they are giving us permission to put it out at this time is just overly special.”

“Make Me Say It Again, Girl” follows “Friends & Family,” featuring Snoop Dogg. Both songs will appear on the legendary band’s forthcoming album Make Me Say It Again, Girl, which is due this month via their RI Top Ten imprint.

According to Variety, Make Me will feature contributions from Alicia Keys, Drake, Trey Songz and Rick Ross. Eric Hudson, 1500 or Nothin’, Scott Storch, and Poo Bear are among some of the studio associates working on the album.

Their last album, Power of Peace, was released in collaboration with Carlos Santana in 2017.

On Sept. 30, The Isley Brothers will host an album release party at the INKwell Harbor Club in New York City, New York. Get information on how to attend here.

In Beyoncé-related news, she teamed up with Tiffany & Co. for a second collaboration, LOSE YOURSELF IN LOVE.

She will release a companion film for the campaign in October. It will feature “Summer Renaissance,” from Bey’s new album, as its soundtrack.
