Brent Faiyaz New Album Wasteland

Lost Kids

Brent Faiyaz has earned another career achievement. The Columbia, Maryland, native’s sophomore album Wasteland is now certified gold, surpassing more than 500,000 equivalent units.

It marks Faiyaz’s first album or project to be certified by the RIAA. His previous releases, including 2020’s F*ck the World and his 2017 debut Sonder Son, have yet to be awarded.

Faiyaz also picked up a 6x multi-platinum award for Goldlink’s “Crew” on which he and Shy Glizzy featured. The hit single, which has sold over six million equivalent units, gave Faiyaz his first No. 1 on urban radio in November 2021.

Moving back to Wasteland, the 19-song album was released July 8 via Faiyaz’s imprint Lost Kids.

Faiyaz preceded the album with multiple singles, including the Drake-assisted “Wasting Time” and “Price of Fame.” The Neptunes produced the former track, which reached the top 10 on urban radio.

Faiyaz’s biggest success from Wasteland has been “All Mine.” The self-produced song peaked at No. 1 on urban radio in October, giving him his first solo chart-topper.

“All Mine” has surpassed 63 million streams on Spotify.

Additionally, the official video has amassed over six million views on YouTube. Supermodel Joan Smalls stars as the love interest in the Lone Wolf and Mark Peaced-directed visual.

With first-week sales of 88,000 units, Wasteland debuted atop Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. The album also bowed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, marking Faiyaz’s first top ten placement. Those figures marked his largest opening week sales.

That same week resulted in Faiyaz’s placing seven songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His recent hit “All Mine” entered at No. 42, and “Loose Change” followed at No. 52.
