R&B singer Mack Keane has unveiled “Chances,” a song he wrote and co-produced with Aabo (Kyle Dion, Brandon Banks).
Melting vulnerable and a delicate congo pattern into a slow, warming R&B burner, Keane speaks honestly about getting his heart crushed and masking it by being a bachelor.
Realizing his playboy mentality did more harm than good, Keane asks his new romantic interest to be patient with him as he works on improving his flaws.
“I was f***ed up by somebody / Who didn’t mean anything to me / Now that we both drunk at this party / If you’re feelin’ insecure / You can rest assured / Take a chance on me,” Keane sings.
Regarding his new single, Keane shares, “‘Chances’ was definitely a labor of love. The record means a lot to me. It’s a real story and a timestamp of that period of my life, which is always the intention of my music.”
He continues, “The lyrics in the second verse are my favorite because it’s something that I’m still learning to do in my life today: letting go, accepting the things that I can’t control, and staying present and grounded in this reality. I’m really happy to finally get this one out in the world.”
“Chances” is the beginning of a new era for Keane, according to press materials. It will be filled with music that will find him “more vulnerable than ever before.”
