Vedo emphasizes his choice to love his partner in his new song, “Intentional,” produced by Camper (Usher, Coco Jones).
On the tender, bass-heavy track, Vedo says that satisfying his partner’s needs is innate and asks for reciprocity to strengthen their bond.
“Everything I do / Comes natural, so girl, you know it’s true / See, you won’t have to fight for my time / I’m yours,” Vedo affirms in the first verse.
Speaking on “Intentional,” Vedo tells Rated R&B, “I’m at a place in life where everything I do will be intentional: from the friends I keep, the places I go, to who I choose to love. Often times people sacrifice their happiness and peace for something or someone. Live an honest, kind, prosperous and ‘intentional’ life.”
Alongside his new song, Vedo shares a 45-second clip titled Intentional (The Prologue) featuring his real-life fiancé. It can be watched below.
“Intentional” is Vedo’s first song release since dropping his album, Mood Swings, in January. The 13-track album featured guest appearances from Chris Brown and Tink.
Vedo enlisted Brown for “Do You Mind,” a song that peaked at No. 25 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
Mood Swings also included “Forever,” the lead single produced by Needlz. The track has an official music video and a live sessions performance, both of which can be viewed on Vedo’s YouTube page.
Regarding Mood Swings, Vedo previously said, “This is my first album where I actually had a team of writers come in and assist me with this project and we all got the chance to really learn from each other. But the music speaks for itself, and we just want you to feel…whatever the emotion or mood is.”
During his headlining spring tour, Vedo performed songs from his recent projects including Mood Swings.
Vedo is set to headline the third annual Smorefest Music Festival, featuring over 30 other performers, on Sept. 7 at Navy Yard in Philadelphia. Tickets are available for purchase now at eventbrite.com.
