Editor’s Note (Sept. 27, 2023): The So So Def Festival has been postponed. More details are expected to be revealed soon.
Legendary producer, songwriter, artist and music executive Jermaine Dupri has unveiled the lineup for his 30th anniversary So So Def Festival.
The two-day event is set for Saturday, Oct. 7, and Sunday, Oct. 8, at Central Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
TLC, Anthony Hamilton, Jagged Edge and Xscape are among the R&B acts set to hit the stage. Dem Franchize Boyz and Youngbloodz are also slated to perform, representing hip-hop. More performers will be announced soon.
In addition to live music, festival attendees can enjoy regional and local cuisine and experiences and giveaways from participating sponsors and vendors. Tickets for the So So Def Festival are available now:
- General Admission ($150) includes admission to the festival on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8; one commemorative RFID-enabled wristband; regional and local restaurants including vegan and gluten-free options; sponsor areas with unique experiences and giveaways throughout the park; access to bars and concessions throughout the park; unlimited access to GA+ Lounge with relaxed seating.
There are also exclusive VIP tickets available, including access to VIP lounges that feature seating, premium air-conditioned restrooms, full-service cash bars and more.
Dupri held the So So Def Festival’s 20th anniversary at Atlanta’s Fox Theater in February 2013. Usher, Jay-Z, Xscape, Anthony Hamilton, Da Brat, Jezzy, Jagged Edge and more performed at the event. Mariah Carey also made a special appearance.
In other news, Dupri will receive the Otis & Zelma Redding Award of Respect at the King of Soul Music Festival, presented by the Otis Redding Foundation on Sept. 8-9 in Macon, Georgia.
“The Reddings and Otis III became my musical family before the world knew of Jermaine Dupri. While I understand the family is honoring me, in my mind, I am also honoring them for all they have allowed me to do, see and be a part of at a time when they didn’t have to,” Dupri stated.
Dupri teamed up with rapper Curren$y to release For Motivational Use Only, Vol. 1, a collaborative EP featuring 2 Chainz and T.I. It was released in April.
In the R&B world, Dupri has been seen in the studio with artists such as Ari Lennox and Muni Long. Dupri co-wrote and co-produced Lennox’s No.1 hit “Pressure” from her album age/sex/location.
