Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Kenyon Dixon has reunited with Tiffany Gouché for his new single “’98 Vibes (Do You Right).”
Arriving just in time for cuffing season, “’98 Vibes” is a sultry groove that hears Dixon and Gouché inviting their respective partners to the bedroom for a pleasurable experience. While the seductive tune was made for the bedroom, it certainly sets the mood for a slow dance on the dancefloor as well.
“I just wanna dive in it / Run away hide in it / Give it to you nice and slow / Take my time in it / Thrive in it,” Dixon passionately croons on the hook.
Gouché appears in verse two, singing, “You know you want me / When I come around, girl, you just freeze / Don’t gotta be next to you, it’s just energy / Oh, I feel you all over me,” she sings.
Regarding “’98 Vibes,” Dixon explains to Rated R&B, “We wanted to create something that not only captured the essence of the R&B we love but also paid homage to the unforgettable moments of that era.”
“98 Vibes” is the follow-up to Dixon’s previously shared singles “Lucky” and “Slow Dancing.” The latter track received an official remix featuring Kevin Ross.
Last year, Dixon released his album Closer, which was later reissued with a deluxe edition. The standard edition included the singles “Love On Replay,” which also features Gouché, and “Get High, Get By” featuring D Smoke.
Regarding the former track, Dixon told Rated R&B, “‘Love on Replay’ is an ode to classic love. It’s identifying that somebody so different than everyone else around and all of the experiences that you had. To keep our love on replay is something that I want to continue to do because it’s a good feeling.”
Closer ranked in the top 10 of Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
“Closer delivers a direct aural experience that’ll invigorate any true R&B fan. If Dixon makes you fall back in love with music, then he has completed a job well done,” wrote Rated R&B’s Danielle Brissett.
In other news, Dixon recently teamed with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado to co-write their new single “Keep Going Up.”
It’s not Dixon’s first time working with Timberlake. He co-wrote Timberlake’s “Perfect for Me,” which appeared on the TROLLS World Tour (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) in 2020. Prior to that, Dixon toured with Timberlake as a backing vocalist.
