Emerging singer and songwriter Ivory Scott has joined forces with Queen Naija for his new single “My Mind.” It was co-produced by OG Parker and Romano.
On the devotional track, Scott and Naija trade verses about being swept away by love. “You blow my mind / You could never be no side piece / You’re mine,” they harmonize in the chorus.
Scott exclusively tells Rated R&B about the song’s inspiration: “I feel like everybody is looking for or trying to be a side piece. We need a song that empowers having the one! ‘My Mind’ is dedicated to all the queens out there that know their worth.”
“My Mind” arrives with a sci-fi-inspired video directed by SpuddsMckenzie, which can be viewed below.

“My Mind” is the follow-up to Scott’s single, “Just Like Me,” featuring Eric Bellinger. Both songs will appear on Scott’s debut EP, Before Ebony, out Oct. 27 via MNRK Music Group.
According to press materials, Scott’s full-length debut album will arrive in early 2024.
Scott and Naija are no strangers to collaboration. He co-wrote Naija’s song “Bitter” from her debut album, missunderstood. Additionally, Scott has worked with Kiana Ledé, Vedo, and Tink, to name a few.
Circling back to Naija, she released her Amerie-sampled single “No Fake Love” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again in September. It’s her third single release of the year, following “Let’s Talk About It” and “Words of Affirmation.”
