Tiara Thomas and Tone Stith Hit You Right Back

After teasing last year, Tiara Thomas has returned with a new single called “Hit You Right Back” featuring Tone Stith.

Produced by Marcus “Slade Da Monsta” Slade and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, the slow-burning tune features Thomas and Stith seeking a companion who is patient and understanding.

They need someone who won’t get buried in their own feelings when Thomas and Stith are too busy to squeeze them into their schedule.

“Hit You Right Back” is Thomas’ first single release of the year. It is the follow-up to her 2022 return single “Don’t Talk Back.”

In a November 2022 interview with Rated R&B, Thomas revealed how the latter song would set the stage for her upcoming project.

“‘Don’t Talk Back’ is kind of a fun song. It’s sassy. It doesn’t sound like the other songs on the project, so I don’t think if you listen to that song, you’re gonna get a good idea of what is to come,” Thomas shared.

She continued, “I have so many different types of music. I haven’t chosen all my music for my project that I’m putting out next year yet, so I think I’m gonna have the fans help me with that, as I’m posting on TikTok and see what songs people are getting excited about.”

Thomas’ upcoming project, which is yet to be titled or given a release date, will follow her 2018 EP, FWMM (F**king With My Mind).

Prior to this release, Stith unleashed his fifth EP, P.O.V. The seven-track EP includes the popular singles “I Need You” and “Girls Like You.” The latter was the lead single, reaching No. 1 on the iTunes R&B/Soul Singles chart, and also charted on Billboard.

Regarding P.O.V., which stands for point of view, Stith told Rated R&B in May, “This next project is my point of view on love and the ups and downs in relationships.”

He added, “[It addresses] things that people are afraid to come out and say ‘cause they feel like it might be too soft or too corny. But for me, there’s a lot of toxic things going on in this world, but I wanna be the guy at the forefront that’s like, ‘Hey. It’s okay to love somebody. It’s okay to care for somebody and bet it all on somebody [even when] you don’t know the outcome.’”
