Mary J. Blige is starting 2024 on top. Her current single, “Still Believe In Love,” logs a second week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The Vado-assisted track marks Blige’s seventh chart-topper to hold the top position for two weeks.
Out of her eight songs that made it to No. 1, only “Take Me As I Am” was unable to retain the top position for more than a week. It was at the top for just one week in January 2007.
“Still Believe In Love” reached the top spot on the Adult R&B Airplay chart last week after spending nine weeks on the chart, making it her eighth No. 1. This puts Blige in third place among women for the most leaders.

The nostalgic song climbed to No. 1 quickly, becoming her second fastest after 2016’s “Thick of It,” which spent 16 weeks at the top, taking only four weeks to get there.
“Still Believe In Love” is Blige’s latest chart-topping hit since her 2022 track “Good Morning Gorgeous.”
The latter anthem, which she co-wrote with Lucky Daye, Tiara Thomas, H.E.R. and D’Mile, spent four weeks at the summit.
Blige’s latest track takes the top spot on R&B radio this week, pushing Muni Long’s “Made For Me” down to No. 2 after a week at the throne.
DJ Cassidy and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman produced “Still Believe In Love.” The Mtume-sampled track was released on Oct. 27 via Blige’s Beautiful Life Music imprint.
According to Blige, “Still Believe In Love” will not be a part of a future project. It is a standalone track until she returns to album mode.
Her most recent album, Good Morning Gorgeous, along with its deluxe version, was released in 2022.
Among its accolades and nominations, the album ranked No. 6 on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
“During this era of Blige’s career, it’s evident that the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul (and R&B) is in a good place. She has finally reevaluated her priorities, left behind the turbulence of romantic pitfalls and put herself ‘On Top’ of the list,” Rated R&B’s Antwane Folk wrote.
Earlier this month, Blige reunited with Johntá Austin and Bryan-Michael Cox to record “When I Can’t Do Better.” The track is from the star-studded Color Purple soundtrack.
Additionally, Blige produced a remake of Boyz II Men’s “Please Don’t Go” by her boy band WanMor.
