Ciara kicked off the 2024 ESPY Awards on Thursday night (July 11) with a spectacular performance.
Clad in form-fitting leather pants and a matching vest, CiCi opened her three-minute set with her 2004 debut single, “Goodies.”
She and her dance troupe, who sported Serena Williams-inspired outfits, then transitioned to her Missy Elliott-assisted bop “1, 2 Step.”
Ciara closed her electrifying set with her motivational hit “Level Up,” which the RIAA recently certified double platinum.

The 2024 ESPYS, which aired live from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, was hosted by Serena Williams.
The star-studded ceremony celebrates major athletic achievements, highlights unforgettable moments in sports and honors leading athletes.
“Truly an honor to be a part of such a special night to support my dear friend Serena Williams,” said Ciara. “Thank you for the endless inspiration you’ve given us all!”
Ciara is currently on the Out of This World Tour with Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes and special guest Timbaland. The tour aligns with the 20th anniversary of Ciara’s debut album, Goodies.
On Sept. 28, Ciara will release Goodies (20th Anniversary) on vinyl and digitally, which will include two rare tracks (“Crazy” and “Represent Me”) and a new dance mix of “Goodies” by Dipha Barus.
Ciara’s last project, CiCi, was released in August 2023. The EP included her Chris-Brown assisted hit “How We Roll” and the Lil Baby-featured “Forever.”
Speaking on the project’s title, Ciara told Rated R&B. “Ci Ci is my nickname, and I feel empowered through my nickname. When my fans chant, ‘Go Ci Ci, go Ci Ci, go,’ there is an underlying feeling that Ci Ci is THAT girl who will go get it, no matter what.”
She also hinted that more music would follow CiCi. “I wanted to curate and set the tone of my next music chapter with this EP,” Ciara said to Rated R&B.
“This project is the start of really exciting things to come, but most importantly, I want my fans to know that the Ci Ci they have always loved is in her R&B bag.”
