Lucky Daye’s single “That’s You” remains No. 1 for a second consecutive week on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart dated July 20.
As previously reported, the Bruno Mars and D’Mile-produced track is Daye’s first No. 1 hit as a lead act and his second overall.
His last visit was as a guest on Alicia Keys‘ “Come For Me (Unlocked),” along with Khalid, which spent two weeks atop the chart.
At R&B radio, “That’s You” slips to No. 2 after leading the chart last week. J. Brown’s “If You Could See You” is in the top spot this week.
Released Nov. 1, 2023, “That’s You” is the lead single from Daye’s third album, Algorithm. Daye co-wrote the heartfelt song with the above-mentioned producers, along with Austin Brown and Mike “Hunnid” McGregor.
“I sang my heart out on ‘That’s You,” said Daye. “I felt like I was on the moon. I want people to think about that one person they just can’t be without when they listen. Hopefully, that person is a good person.”
“That’s You” debuted on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in late January at No. 26, marking his sixth entry on the chart. The song entered the top 10 during the week of June 1 at No. 6 on the chart, which was led by Tank‘s “Before We Get Started.”
Lucky Daye’s new album Algorithm was released June 28 via Keep Cool/RCA Records. It’s the follow-up to his sophomore album, Candydrip, which was ranked No. 1 on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
Algorithm was mainly produced by Daye’s longtime collaborator D’Mile, with additional support from Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, Deputy, Livvy Bennett, Michael B. Hunter, Heavy Mellow, and The Monsterz.
Regarding his album, Daye said, “Algorithm is the continued exploration of my sound, leaning into more futuristic and alternative sounds. Whenever I create with D’Mile and J. Kercy, we create magic, so I hope the fans love this project as much as I do.”
Daye is currently on The Algorithm Tour with upcoming stops in Denver, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Nashville.
The tour wraps up Aug. 28 in Los Angeles.
