Brent Faiyaz has received his first two RIAA certifications through his creative agency, ISO Supremacy, in partnership with UnitedMasters.
“WY@,” which the native of Columbia, Maryland, released last year on his 28th birthday (Sept. 19), has been certified gold for sales of 500,000 equivalent units.
The song peaked at No. 9 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart and is from Faiyaz’s sophomore album, Larger Than Life, released in October 2023.
On Spotify, “WY@,” which stands for “where you at,” has accumulated over 67.2 million streams.
Faiyaz’s second new RIAA honor is for “Best Time,” also taken from Larger Than Life. The track, co-written by the fast-rising act Tommy Richman and produced by Dpat, has now achieved gold status.
“Best Time” debuted and peaked at No. 16 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart. So far, it has been streamed more than 218 million times on Spotify.
In May 2023, Faiyaz formed a recording partnership with UnitedMasters, led by music executive Steve Stoute.
As part of this partnership, Faiyaz gained the power to launch his own creative agency, subsequently named In Search of Supremacy, also known as ISO Supremacy, later that summer.
About the partnership, Stoute said, “Brent Faiyaz is one of the most prolific independent artists today and we are extremely excited to embark on this new partnership with him. It’s been inspiring to watch his journey as an artist over the years and with this partnership we look to further amplify his creative vision and support his entrepreneurial ambitions.”
Faiyaz’s new certifications were revealed on his 29th birthday (Sept. 19). They follow his 12 other certifications from this year alone, including nine he acquired in May.
