The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed the initial lineup of presenters and performers for its 2024 induction ceremony, which will be held on Oct. 19 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

Ella Mai and Lucky Daye will honor Mary J. Blige, who will be inducted into the performer category, with a tribute performance. The R&B icon, who recently announced her new album Gratitude, will also perform on stage as previously announced.

Daye has co-written music for Blige since her 2017 Strength of a Woman album, most recently on the title track of Good Morning Gorgeous, which was co-produced by H.E.R. and D’Mile.

As for Mai, Blige provided words of encouragement at the end of select tracks from her 2022 album, Heart On My Sleeve.

Beyond that, Blige reimagined Mai’s “Boo’d Up” instrumental while performing “Don’t Go” from the My Life album for her 2019 tour with Nas.

Method Man and Dr. Dre were announced as presenters for Blige’s induction segment. It has not been shared which of the two will present her with the honor, nor has the responsibility been declared a dual effort.

Both hip-hop elites have a history with Blige; she and Method Man won their first Grammy together in 1996 for “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By.” They have also collaborated more in music and then in television, including on Power Book II: Ghost.

Dr. Dre produced Blige’s first No. 1 hit, “Family Affair,” which was featured on her 2001 album, No More Drama.

Dr. Dre and Blige also united at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in 2022, where they performed alongside Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent, earning them an Emmy award.

“Every year the biggest names in music, film and culture step onto the stage at our ceremony to pay tribute to the iconic inductees whose music has defined generations. These are once in a lifetime moments created that will be remembered forever,” shared John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

The Roots, Julia Roberts, Busta Rhymes, Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa, Keith Urban, Jelly Roll, and more are also performing and presenting at the event.

The other 2024 inductees scheduled to perform include Dionne Warwick, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, and Kool & the Gang.

Warwick will be honored with the Musical Excellence Award, which is “given to artists, musicians, songwriters and producers whose originality and influence creating music have had a dramatic impact on music.” She will be joined by fellow inductees Jimmy Buffett, MC5, and Norman Whitfield.

Additional participants will be announced ahead of the ceremony.

The 39th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be live-streamed on Disney+ on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. ET. It will also be shown on ABC at a later date and available on Hulu starting Oct. 20.
