Rising R&B singer Raiche has announced a new EP, Making Room, will release Oct. 18 via GDE/Island Prolific/Atlantic Records.
The upcoming project will feature the previously shared tracks “Burn Your Clothes,” “Thinking Of You,” the title song, and the recently unveiled “Hearts at War.”
The latter, piano-laden song was inspired by a previous breakup, as Raiche shared on Instagram.
“This was such a special moment for me,” Raiche wrote for a post, with the “Hearts at War” artwork. “Going through a breakup and being able to create music through it with such supportive people is all I could ever ask for.”

In “Hearts at War,” Raiche surrenders and buries the hatchet after fiercely fighting for love on the romantic battlefield.
“When bearing your arms / Someone’s gonna fall / Sound the alarm / I can’t take no more,” she sings gallantly over tribal drums.
Making Room follows Raiche’s 2023 EP, Loveland. The 13-track project included her Ty Dolla $ign-featured “Pick a Side (Remix)” and “Late Show,” among others.
“I am such an open person. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I don’t care to sometimes be brutally honest and live my truth,” Raiche told Rated R&B of the writing and recording of Loveland.

“I find it awful if I have to hold things back. It stresses me out. So it’s even more therapeutic in that sense where other people are like, ‘Wow. I went through that same thing’ or ‘I feel that emotion,’ or ‘you are speaking to me.’”
Beginning on Oct. 2, Raiche will be joining the rapidly rising singer Teddy Swims as a special guest for his I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy Tour. The North American leg, which has sold out, will conclude on Oct. 22.
