Chris Brown’s single “Sensational” featuring Davido and Lojay has logged a sixth consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The R&B megastar is just one week away from matching “Go Crazy” with Young Thug, which spent seven weeks at the top of the airplay chart.
Not only did the collaboration, featured on their 2020 joint project Slim & B, become Brown’s second longest-running No. 1 hit, but it also stayed in the top 10 for 37 weeks, from Dec. 5, 2020, through Aug. 21, 2021.
“Sensational” is Brown’s third most successful release on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, reaching the top spot during the week of Aug. 24. It marked his fifth visit to the pole position.
The track, produced by DJ Hardwerk, holds the record as the second song of 2024 to spend the most weeks in the top position, now trailing behind Mary J. Blige‘s hit “Still Believe in Love” featuring Vado, which held the top spot for eight consecutive weeks.
Impressively, Brown’s “Sensational” retains the crown for the most weeks at No. 1 among male artists as a lead act this year. He passed this checkpoint in its fourth week atop.
Below are the male artists who have spent at least two weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in 2024, listed by the most weeks:
- “Sensational,” Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, six weeks at No. 1 so far
- “Lose Control,” Teddy Swims, three weeks at No. 1
- “Superman,” Charlie Wilson, three weeks at No. 1
- “That’s You,” Lucky Daye, two weeks at No. 1
- “Before We Get Started,” Tank featuring Fabolous, two weeks at No. 1
- “Risk It All,” Usher with H.E.R., two weeks at No. 1
“Sensational” is Brown’s second single from his latest album, 11:11, which is also his 11th album overall. The Afrobeats-tinged track also appears on the expanded edition of the chart-topping project.
11:11 (Deluxe) boasts 13 bonus tracks, one of which is “Residuals,” a fan-favorite that is steadily climbing up other Billboard charts. Notably, the track, co-produced by Eric Hudson and Blaq Tuxedo, is currently at No. 11 and No. 26 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay charts this week.
“Residuals” also peaked at No. 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where Brown has 118 entries.
