Muni Long is on a roll. The Grammy winner singer’s current single, “Ruined Me,” is No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this week.

The heartrending song, produced by Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman and Kevin Theodore, unseats Eric Benét and Tamar Braxton‘s duet, “Something We Can Make Love To,” after just one week atop.

“Ruined Me” is Long’s second chart-topper, following “Make Me Forget,” which led this airplay chart for one week in the Aug. 17 issue.

Remarkably, Long has three additional entries on this chart, all of which ranked in the top 10.

Here’s Muni Long’s list of Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart entries:

  • “Make Me Forget,” No. 1 for one week (2024)
  • “Ruined Me,” No. 1 for one week so far (2024)
  • “Made For Me,” No. 2 (2023)
  • “Hrs and Hrs,” No. 2 (2022)
  • “Honey,” a duet with John Legend, No. 4 (2022)

“Ruined Me” is the third single off Long’s sophomore album, Revenge, which came out Aug. 30 via Def Jam Recordings.

In an interview with Rated R&B, Long explained why this somber track, nominated for Best R&B Song at the 2025 Grammys, capped the album.

Long said, “Honestly, it was the last song that I had written and we already had the track listing and didn’t want to change it.”

According to the song’s co-producer and co-songwriter, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, he pushed for “Ruined Me” to be a part of Revenge.

Gitelman exclusively told Rated R&B, “She’s like, ‘Gitty. If we could get the stems over, this could actually be on the album, even though my album is literally done.’ She’s like, ‘This needs to be on the album.’ She wanted to get some sh*t off her chest, so I just provided the soundtrack.”

Revenge follows Long’s 2022 debut, Public Displays of Affection: The Album. It features a collaboration with rapper GloRilla. Other singles from Revenge include “Made For Me” and “Make Me Forget.”

At last year’s Soul Train Awards, Long performed the live version of the former viral track, which is now nominated for Best R&B Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards.

As mentioned earlier, “Ruined Me” is nominated for an award, while Revenge is competing for Best R&B Album, and “Make Me Forget” is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance.

Long has the highest R&B nominations for 2025, totaling four across five categories.
