The Recording Academy unveiled the nominees for the 67th Grammy Awards on Friday morning.
Music’s Biggest Night will take place Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It will broadcast live on CBS and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
Beyoncé leads overall with 11 nominations, including for Album of the Year (Cowboy Carter) and Record of the Year (“Texas Hold ‘Em“). With a career total of 99 nods, Beyoncé makes history has the artist with the most nominations in Grammy history.
In the R&B field, which consists of five categories, Muni Long leads the pack with four nominations, including for Best R&B Album (Revenge).
The R&B field includes the following categories: Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Album, and Best Progressive Album. Each category guarantees at least five nominees.
This year, the Recording Academy amended its criteria for the Traditional R&B Performance category “to more accurately represent recordings that embody the classic elements of R&B/soul music, distinguishing them from contemporary interpretations of the genre.”
Further, it’s worth noting that Brandy and Monica have picked up a nomination for their appearance on Ariana Grande’s “the boy is mine (remix)” for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
In order to be considered for a 2025 Grammy nomination, recordings had to have been released between Sept. 16, 2023, and Aug. 30, 2024.
