Halle has gifted her fans something special for Valentine’s Day — new music. The Grammy-nominated singer has released her new song “Back and Forth.”
On the self-penned track, produced by Needlz, Halle sings: “I deserve a love that doesn’t hurt / Because I’ve been through worse.”
“Back and Forth” arrives with a visualizer, which can be watched below. It is Halle’s fourth solo single following 2024’s “Because I Love You” and “In Your Hands” and 2023’s “Angel.”
All three songs appeared on various Billboard charts. “Because I Love You,” which Halle co-wrote with RAYE, debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart. It tallied Halle’s third consecutive top 5 hit on that chart, following “In Your Hands” (No. 3 debut) and “Angel” (No. 2 debut).

The latter song, which has over 20 million Spotify streams, was released three months after her starring role as Ariel in Disney’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid.
“I wanted to be able to embrace and be proud of myself and who I am naturally through and through. I hope other brown and Black girls and everyone in general feel embraced, respected, and inspired hearing the words of this song,” Halle said of “Angel.
Aside from her solo music, Halle appeared on FLO’s Access All Areas: Unlocked, an mini deluxe of their 2024 debut album. She is featured “Soft” with her sister Chlöe.
The two siblings also collaborated on “Want Me,” a standout on Chlöe’s 2024 sophomore album, Trouble In Paradise. This June will mark five years since the sisters, together known as Chloe x Halle, released their second album Ungodly Hour.
