November Yellow/IMPERIAL

Rising R&B duo The Amours – consisting of sisters Jakiya and Shaina – has released their new single “Clarity.”

Produced by longtime collaborator Camper, the emotionally resonant ballad is an urgent plea to a lover to be honest about where a relationship stands. Instead of being in the dark, they seek a light of truth — even if it hurts.

“Baby that’s all I need / Some clarity / Would be good for me / That’s all I need,” they sing.

“Clarity” was co-written by Camper, DIXSON and The Amours.

Regarding their new single, The Amours share, “‘Clarity’ is for the true yearners. As you all know, we’re lover girls for real! And we can attest that all we truly want is for the love that our hearts desire to be as clear as possible. Especially, when you know your worth and you don’t want to waste your time carrying avoidable emotional damage.”

They continue, “We’re excited for you all to witness us dive into a different level of vulnerability with ‘Clarity,’ along with the songs on our upcoming album. Cheers to accepting nothing less than ‘Clarity’ in your relationships and putting yourself first!”

The soul-stirring track follows “That One Ex,” which was released in April. Both songs will appear on their new project, Girls Will Be Girls, releasing Aug. 15 via November Yellow/Imperial.

Girls Will Be Girls comes two years after their Changes EP, which was executive produced by Camper. The latter project included the TA Thomas-assisted “Pick Me Up,” “Before I Met You” and “On The Run.”

Speaking on Changes, The Amours noted, “The process of formulating this project has been one of the best experiences of our lives. We were able to really dig deep and showcase a level of vulnerability we have yet to reveal to our fans. In the midst of this process, we’ve gone through a whirlwind of changes. From the EP title to the shift in songs, scratching everything and starting over. We’ve embraced every single change we’ve had to endure.”

After releasing Changes, The Amours returned in September 2024 with their single “The Game.”
