Almost 30 years after his debut, Brian McKnight still proudly delivers his specific brand of positive R&B. His latest ode, “Faithfully,” is no different, dedicating it to his wife Leilani Mali and allowing it to soundtrack the everlasting feelings his lovestruck fans have for their partners.
He sings about the rock-solid attachment for his wife with much conviction, surrendering every part of himself that comes out boldly in his vulnerable yearns and narration.
“You got what I want / You’re my destiny / Everything I need is standing right in front of me,” he assures.
“Faithfully” follows Exodus, McKnight’s final studio album of original material. It included the top ten R&B single “Nobody,” as well as several other singles, including “Bad” and “‘42 (Grown Up Tipsy).”
No word yet if “Faithfully” is a part of an album or a standalone track for cuffing season.
