Tamar Braxton’s new single “Changed” debuts No. 24 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this week. It’s her first appearance on this chart in three years.
According to Billboard, the chart represents “the week’s most popular songs, ranked by radio airplay detections as compiled by Luminate.”
Braxton’s previous song, “Crazy Kind Of Love,” which interpolates Whitney Houston’s 1985 version of “Saving All My Love for You,” started at No. 22 in the April 4, 2020 issue. Five months later, the song, lifted from the film True To The Game 2, in which Braxton co-starred, peaked at No. 2.
Earlier this month, Braxton’s “Changed” placed No. 15 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart.
Aside from Billboard, Braxton’s latest track is making its rounds on R&B radio. It impacted the format today (April 25) after it was named the most-added song the week of April 15.

“Changed,” which interpolates SWV’s hit “The Rain,” was released independently on Braxton’s birthday (March 17) via Tamar Braxton Productions/Platform Records. It marks her first proper song release since 2017’s Bluebird of Happiness, her then-final album.
Bluebird of Happiness debuted at No. 1 and No. 4 on Billboard’s Independent Albums and Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. It also opened at No. 14 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Braxton, who found a new partner on Peacock’s Queens Court, is hard at work on her next album, which mysteriously vanished sometime last year. Her forthcoming record will serve as her fifth studio album.
As Braxton works through the details of her upcoming album, she is holding down a co-hosting role on Dish Nation for its 12th season. Earlier this winter, she was announced as a new co-host, along with Jessie Woo.
Music is still in the picture for Braxton. She is playing dates nationwide. Her next stop is in Columbia, South Carolina, for the R&B Diva Powerhouse Fest. The show, a Mother’s Day Edition, is set for Friday, May 12, at the Colonial Life Arena. Monica and Xscape are set to perform as well.

On June 3, Braxton will take the stage for the Nashville edition of the R&B Music Experience Tour.
The event will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Additional performers include Tevin Campbell, Trey Songz, El DeBarge, Ginuwine, Tweet, 112, and more.
Additionally, on June 18, as part of Juneteenth festivities, Braxton will perform on day two of the 2023 AFRAM Festival at the historic Druid Hill Park in Baltimore, Maryland. Legendary R&B group The Isley Brothers are set to headline.
