Alicia Keys has released the official music video for her latest single “Perfect Way to Die.”
Working with renowned director Chris Robinson, the stirring visual follows Keys behind her instrument of choice belting the emotionally honest track in the empty dark streets of New York City.
Robinson perfectly plays out the dramatic moments of the song’s lyrics throughout the clip, including the “a river of blood in the streets / no love in the streets” line.
The video also contains outdoor digital images of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Michael Brown, Jr., who were all unjustly killed by police officers.
Keys recently performed the piano-laden tune at the 2020 BET Awards on Sunday.
ALICIA is the seventh studio album by Keys. Originally set to arrive in March 2020, the album has been pushed back to an unannounced date. It will include the heroic “Good Job,” the powerful “Underdog” and the Miguel-assisted duet “Show Me Love.”
