Fans of Mary J. Blige can expect one of her three albums to possibly have a trap sound. A photo of the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has surfaced on Instagram with hitmaker Murda Beatz (Migos, Drake) in the studio.
The producer gushed about his session with Blige. Her A&R Eddie Fourcell captioned his excitement in his own post, noting “Murda on the beat.”
In February, Blige announced she was working on two albums that reflect her current mindset and the boss persona of other women. Following recent studio sessions with DJ Camper, Prince Charlez, and Blush Writes, her A&R revealed that she is actually working on three albums simultaneously.
A year after releasing her breakup album Strength of a Woman, Blige regained her joy with “Only Love” in July 2018.
On the acting side, Blige can be seen kicking ass in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, She’s also set to appear in the coming-of-age romance The Violent Heart and horror-thriller Body Cam, as well as the third season of MTV’s Scream.
She is also been tapped to executive producer Lifetime’s upcoming biopic on the legendary Clark Sisters alongside Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott.
