There’s no place to go but up for Brandy on the urban adult contemporary radio chart. After scoring her first top 10 R&B hit in 20 years, the vocal acrobat’s harmonious duet “Love Again” with Daniel Caesar can now be found in the top five on urban AC radio.
Their well-layered vocal collaboration is reaching nearly 8 million listeners from airplay at 87 monitored stations, including airplay leaders KNEK Lafayette, Louisiana; WQQK Nashville, Tennessee; and WTYB Savannah, Georgia.
As reported earlier, Brandy cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart for the first time since 1999’s “Almost Doesn’t Count” earlier this month. On the latest tracking week, the record stands at No. 7.
“Love Again” is a dual lead single for Brandy and Caesar. Brandy, whose untitled seventh album drops later this year, has been working with hosts of hitmakers to make her best work to date, including DJ Camper, Prince Charlez and LaShawn Daniels.
Brandy has also been spotted in the studio working with Angel, Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, and Ro James, who is rumored to have her on a duet called “Plan B.”
Tonight (Aug. 29), Brandy is being honored with the BMI President’s Award at the 2019 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta. The prestigious award is presented to an individual songwriter, composer or producer who has made exemplary contributions to the art of music and songwriting and profoundly influenced the entertainment industry.
