Monica is seeing the fruit of her labor. On Saturday (Oct. 12), the Grammy winner received an honorary degree from the Global International Alliance for her humanitarian work through her nonprofit foundation, BeHUMAN.
In an Instagram post, Monica deemed the honor, “a moment of complete gratefulness.”
“This doctrine acknowledges my humanitarian efforts & that means a tremendous amount to me especially since establishing @thebehumanfoundation…. Thank you for thinking of & acknowledge me!,” she wrote.
BeHuman, which Monica started last fall, is a public-service organization that utilizes music and poignant messaging to give communities a platform to triumph over difficult situations and encourage each other around the world to do the same.
In other news, Monica is working on her upcoming album, Chapter 38, which will release independently under her label MonDeenise Music, Inc. later this year.
The LP includes her number one R&B single “Commitment” as well as contributions from PJ Morton, Tank, and Polow Da Don.
Congratulations again, Monica!
