Ledisi has an ace up her sleeve and plans to reveal her hand this summer. The retro-soul diva has announced her next studio album, The Wild Card, will arrive on August 28. It follows her Grammy-nominated album Let Love Rule.

The new record will also mark her first full-length album to be released on her independent label Listen Back through a distribution deal with BMG. Her last five previous albums, including The Truth and Pieces of Me, have been issued through Verve Forecast Records.

The Wild Card is expected to feature contributions from Ledisi’s long-time collaborator Rex Rideout, Robert Glasper, and Babyface.

In addition to confirming the album’s release date, Ledisi shared the glamorous cover artwork. Bested in gold and rocking a huge afro, the New Orleans native is beaming in amber bliss.

“Anything For You,” The Wild Card’s lead single, is currently in the top 20 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart. She recently performed an at-home version of the warm-hearted love song.
