Singer-songwriter Kevin Ross has dropped off a two-part track titled “I Do / Options.”
On “I Do,” Ross tries to provide emotional support to a woman who has gone through a breakup. “I knew I wanted to talk about breaking cycles of bad relationships and accepting something new because you’re worthy and deserving,” Ross tells Rated R&B. “I just didn’t want it to be a ballad or something that dragged so I kept the vibe very light and whimsical. Once you’re past the ‘bop effect’ of the song, there’s a message in it (laughs!)”
The production shifts to trap-like elements for “Options,” as Ross continues to woo his love interest. “The ‘Options’ section just plays off of my bravado and confidence in what I can bring to the table for the women in the previous section,” he adds.
“I Do / Options” will appear on Ross’ Audacity, Vol. 2 EP, which drops on August 14 via Art Society Music Group/EMPIRE. The seven-track EP will also include “God Is a Genius” and his duet with Canjelae “Everybody Here Wants You,” which is a cover of Jeff Buckley’s 1998 hit single. The EP is the second installment of his sophomore album, Audacity. The first part dropped in January and included the popular track “Thing Called Love.”
