Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak An Evening With Silk Sonic

Silk Sonic

Silk Sonic, the duo composed of Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars, made a triumphant introduction in March with their debut single, “Leave The Door Open.” Co-produced by Mars and D’Mile, “Leave The Door Open” made history on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart in April, after soaring to No. 1 in just four weeks. (It was the first song to earn this feat on the airplay chart since Mary J. Blige’s 2016 hit “Thick of It.”)

As for the Hot 100, “Leave The Door Open” reached the top of the summit in mid-April and again the following month. Since its release, the smooth tune has been certified 2x multi-platinum by the RIAA.

The duo soon accumulated other accolades as a result of their breakthrough single. Most notably, they won Best Group at the 2021 BET Awards and Best R&B and Best Editing at the recent MTV Video Music Awards.

Amid the success of “Leave The Door Open,” Silk Sonic followed up with their second single, “Skate,” in July. Then, on November 5, they shared their single “Smokin Out The Window” as the last straw ahead of their album release.

As Silk Sonic gears up to release An Evening With Silk Sonic, here’s everything we know so far…

When does An Evening With Silk Sonic come out?

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Silk Sonic originally teased that their album would arrive in January 2022. However, last month, they confirmed that An Evening With Silk Sonic will release on November 12, 2021, via Aftermath Entertainment/Atlantic Records.

Who is featured on An Evening With Silk Sonic?

The legendary Bootsy Collins is featured on “Silk Sonic Intro,” and “After Last Night” along with Thundercat.

How many songs are on the album?

There are nine tracks on An Evening With Silk Sonic. Here is the official tracklist:

1. Silk Sonic Intro
2. Leave The Door Open
3. Fly As Me
4. After Last Night (with Thundercat & Bootsy Collins)
5. Smokin Out The Window
6. Put On A Smile
7. 777
8. Skate
9. Blast Off

What producers and songwriters are credited on the album?

The duo kept the production credits to a minimum on the album. Nearly every song on An Evening With Silk Sonic was co-produced by Bruno Mars and D’Mile. Mars is the sole producer credited on “777,” and The Stereotypes are included on “After Last Night.” As for the songwriting credits, Anderson .Paak, Mars and D’Mile co-wrote every song on the album. Additional credits include Brody Brown, DOMi & JD Beck, James Fauntleroy, Sean Anderson (a.k.a Big Sean), The Stereotypes and Thundercat.

Will the album be available on vinyl?

Although the demand is high, there hasn’t been an announcement about a vinyl edition of An Evening With Silk Sonic. As of now, the album will be available in the following formats: streaming, digital download, cassette, and CD. Silk Sonic also has limited edition box sets available for pre-order on its official website. There are two options for the box sets: a gold Silk Sonic t-shirt with a CD and a cream t-shirt with a CD.

Is Silk Sonic going on tour?

It’s no surprise that fans are eager to see Silk Sonic perform music from their new album. Silk Sonic hasn’t announced tour dates yet. However, Bruno Mars has some shows planned in December at MGM National Harbor in Maryland and MGM Grand Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Anderson .Paak has a few international shows lined up for summer 2022.
