Snoop Dogg’s newly-released project Snoop Dogg Presents Algorithm features R&B input from not only Mary J. Blige but Eric Bellinger and Usher. The two gents appear on “New Oldie,” which finds them pre-stamping this jam as one that will be considered a throwback in years to come.
Bellinger reflects on his mom being instrumental in his love for classics by Anita Baker and Michael Jackson. At the same time, Usher boasts of introducing swag and how romantic staples by Al Green keeps his relationship with his lover going strong.
Months ahead of this collaboration, Bellinger released his first proper album, New Light. It features guest spots from Brandy, Sevyn Streeter, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Teedra Moses and others. He’s continued the LP’s promo through acoustic performances of select tracks, including “What About Us.”
Bellinger has been cast in The CW’s Taye Diggs-executive produced Black Pack variety specials.
In August, Usher, nominated for two 2021 Soul Train Awards, celebrated the 20th anniversary of his third album, 8701. He appeared on Jam & Lewis’ debut album and headlined a successful Las Vegas residency.
Usher remains on the books at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, with new shows running from December 24 until January 1, 2022.
