SZA’s latest track “I Hate U” has made history on Apple Music, becoming the most-streamed R&B song by a female artist in its first week.
The kiss-off anthem rocketed to the top position on various Apple Music charts, including the Top 100: Global, and various City Charts, reigning supreme the longest in major cities like Los Angeles, Detroit, and Philadelphia, to name a few.
SZA shared her appreciation to her fans for keeping “I Hate U” atop the charts.
“Y’all really took a song from SoundCloud and made it number one for 7 days straight. No promo no radio . no nada. Jus YALLS LOVE. I AM SO BEYOND THANKFUL TO HAVE YOU ALL IN MY LIFE,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I Hate U” impacted the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at No. 7 during the last tracking week (Dec. 18). It marks her first solo record to open inside the Hot 100. It also steals the top 10 achievement from “Good Days,” marking her highest-charting solo song on this list.
Speaking of “Good Days,” it is up for Best R&B Song at the 2022 Grammys. SZA also received recognition in the general categories, including Album of the Year, for her participation in Doja Cat’s Planet Her.
In other music-related news, SZA appeared on Summer Walker’s Still Over It (“No Love”) and issued “The Anonymous Ones,” a song taken from the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack.
