Last September, Anthony Hamilton told Rated R&B that “I’m Ready” was a top contender for the next single from Love Is The New Black.
The Grammy-nominated singer seems to have made a choice, unleashing a video for the Lil’ Jon-assisted track.
The video features footage from recent concerts, where Hamilton gets interactive with the crowd and cuts up in a grown folks manner. Of course, his legion of fans are just as lit as him, pointing out a few of them throughout the clip.
Lil’ Jon doesn’t appear in the video, but his crunk ad-libs and verse are ever-present.
Ahead of releasing Love Is The New Black, named one of Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2021, Hamilton shared the single “You Made A Fool Of Me.”
The song of deep betrayal, co-produced by Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal, scored Hamilton a top-five single (No. 3) on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
In Rated R&B’s interview with Hamilton, he discussed the key takeaway from his newest album.
“We are all worthy of love, and Black love is still beautiful and powerful, no matter what they try to paint around us,” he affirmed.
“We’re still worthy of self-love. This music that we call R&B, soul music or Black music, it’s ours. We’re so unappreciated by most of the world, but to us, we’re legacy within ourselves. Keep shining, melanating and creating.”

As mentioned above, Hamilton went up against Soulchild in a Valentine’s Day edition of Verzuz on Tuesday (Feb. 15) night.
He brought out tons of special guests, including Kevin Ross, Raheem DeVaughn, Eric Roberson (“Lessons”), and Leela James (“Complicated”), to perform his respective remixes with the soulful bunch.
Hamilton’s work with James earned the two a 2022 NAACP Image Awards nomination for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Traditional).
Starting March 2 in Dallas, Texas, Hamilton will be performing across the nation on Maxwell’s NIGHT 2022 Tour. Joe is also billed as a special guest. Tickets are now available.
