Chloë delivered a show-stopping performance at the 2022 BET Awards on Sunday night.
She opened her set with “Surprise,” which included an interpolation of Adina Howard’s “Freak Like Me.” Chlöe ended her set with her second single, “Treat Me.”
Chlöe’s performance comes on the heels of her latest single “Surprise,” which was released June 17. It’s the third single from her upcoming self-titled debut album that will release on Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records.
The song was equipped with an accompanying video co-starring actor/model Broderick Hunter as Chlöe’s love interest.
Chlöe released “Surprise” after asking fans to help select her next single. She presented three options, including “Cheat Back” and “For The Night.” Chlöe also consulted with her label head, Beyoncé, who suggested going with “Surprise.”
“When the queen speaks, the queen speaks, and that’s all I’m gonna say,” Chlöe said in a video that circulated on social media.

“Surprise,” a sultry tune co-produced by Scott Storch and IllaDaProducer, is the follow-up to Chlöe’s uptempo tracks “Treat Me” and “Have Mercy.”
The latter single reached No. 1 at urban radio, and earned Chlöe a gold RIAA certification for amassing more than 500,000 equivalent sales units.
During Juneteenth weekend, Chlöe performed at Pharrell’s Something in the Water Festival with her sister Halle Bailey as their duo Chloe x Halle. The two performed songs from their two proper albums The Kids Are Alright and Ungodly Hour.
Both albums scored Grammy nominations, including Best Urban Contemporary Album (The Kids Are Alright) and Best Progressive R&B Album (Ungodly Hour). In 2021, their single “Do It,” from Ungodly Hour, was certified platinum by the RIAA with more than one million equivalent units in sales.
Chlöe is expected to release her debut album later this year on Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records.
