Masego is back with a new single, “Say You Want Me.” It’s the first new song from the Grammy-nominated artist since he released the syrupy “Yamz” with Devin Morrison in November 2021.
The Afro-R&B track, co-produced by P2J and E.Y., meshes Masego’s smooth voice with the burgeoning talents of Destin Conrad, Ambré, Ari PenSmith and Mannywellz, who lend joyous vocals.
“Two years I been suffering / But I fought for you right (Aw yeah) / I never wanna see the day / That I’m not in ya light / In case I’m on my way / S.O.S. I’m on my way,” Masego sings on the vibrant number.
Masego pairs “Say You Want Me” with a music video directed by Victor Alex Barco.

“Say You Want Me” is the first single from Masego’s forthcoming untitled album.
It will mark his first proper album since 2018’s Lady Lady, which was featured on Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums list that year. The beloved album included the platinum-selling “Tadow” with FKJ and “Old Age” featuring SiR.
In November 2020, Masego released his EP, Studying Abroad. The globe-trotting set included the D’Mile-produced “Passport,” along with the Don Toliver-guested “Mystery Lady.” The latter track was certified gold for more than 500,000 equivalent units sold.
Studying Abroad was upgraded to a deluxe version, Studying Abroad: Extended Stay, in May 2021. The extended version was nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
That same year, Masego recruited Big Boi and J.I.D. for “Garden Party.” He later appeared on Tank and the Bangas’ “Black Folk,” which was released during Black History Month. Alex Isley is also featured on the track.
Elsewhere, Masego worked with Ambré on her EP 3000° and Robert Glasper on the standalone track “All Masks.”
On Nov. 28, Masego will launch his headlining European tour. Tickets are available at masegomusic.com.
