Snoh Aalegra declares to avoid hasty romantic relationships in her latest song, “Wait A Little Longer,” produced by Sensei Bueno and Mellodust.
On the track, Aalegra reflects on a breakup and acknowledges the time it takes to heal. She remains optimistic about finding love in the future, taking it one day at a time.
“I lied when I said we can still be friends / But the love I have for you still remains / Now we’re back to strangers,” Aalegra sings.
“Wait A Little Longer” is Aalegra’s third single release in less than a month. Prior to this, she issued the tracks, “Sweet Tea” and “Be My Summer.”
It is currently unknown if any of these three songs will be included in an upcoming Aalegra project.
Aalegra’s last album, Temporary Highs in the Violet Skies, arrived in July 2021. It debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. It also opened at No. 24 on the Billboard 200, marking her highest career entry to date.
Temporary Highs in the Violet Skies produced two top 10 hits, including “Lost You” and “In Your Eyes.” The latter track, produced by The Neptunes, reached No. 4 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Amid the success of her third studio album, Aalegra released “Do 4 Love,” her version of the late Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do For Love.” Her 2021 remake was nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards in 2022.
Elsewhere in 2022, Aalegra’s “I Want You Around” advanced to platinum status, pushing more than one million equivalent units. The song, which reached No. 1 on the Adult R&B chart, appears on Aalegra’s 2019 sophomore album, -Ugh, Those Feels Again.
Solo music aside, Aalegra lent her voice to Grammy-winning producer Malik Baptiste for his track “All You Need to Know.”
