6LACK and Jessie Reyez have reunited for a new track titled “Homicide,” produced by Nova Wav.
“I’m cuffin’ all your love, don’t you make me pipe it up / ‘Cause, baby, once it’s up, it’s stuck,’ 6LACK sings in the chorus.
Reyez appears in the second verse, singing, “Love it when your jealousy shows a little / Love it when you check my phone and give me some sh*t, then you give me some d*ck.”
“Homicide” arrives with a B-side, “Mean It.” The featureless track hears 6LACK singing about a relationship that has gone sour. “How you act so easy? / Say your ass gon’ leave mе? / Wеll, if you say that, better mean it / And you better back that with a reason,” he croons.
“Homicide” is 6LACK and Reyez’s third collaboration. 6LACK appeared on “Forever” from 2022’s Yessie and “Imported (Remix),” lifted Reyez’s 2020 debut album, Before Love Came To Kill Us. The latter is their most-streamed collaboration on Spotify, with over 147 million streams and counting.
In August, 6LACK joined forces with rising alt-R&B singer Jordan Ward for “Mustard,” a bonus track on Ward’s moreward(FORWARD), the deluxe edition of his debut album, FORWARD.
6LACK released his third album, Since I Have A Lover, in March. “Homicide” and “Mean It” are his first official releases as a lead artist since his album release earlier this year.
6LACK will support his new project on his massive Since I Have A Lover World Tour. The North American leg begins Oct. 1 in Portland, Oregon, at Alaska Airlines’ Theater of the Clouds.
From there, 6LACK will play in Vancouver, San Francisco, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Atlanta. The first leg concludes Dec. 3 in Memphis, Tennessee, at Graceland Soundstage. Ward, Mereba, and Quin will join 6LACK as supporting acts on the North American trek.
On Feb. 12, 2024, 6LACK will launch the European leg in Dublin, Ireland. He will make additional stops in Manchester, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin. The tour will conclude March 3, 2024, in Oslo, Norway. (The tour dates are listed below.)
