K. Michelle, also known as Puddin, made her debut at the 57th Country Music Awards (CMAs) on Wednesday night for a special performance.

The Memphis native joined fast-rising country star Jelly Roll to perform “Love Can Build A Bridge” in celebration of The Judds, a country music group that inspired her artistry.

A Tribute To The Judds, a star-studded compilation, included a studio version of “Love Can Build A Bridge” recorded by K. Michelle and Jelly Roll with The Fisk Jubilee Singers before the ceremony. The Judds’ final album, released in 1993, features the above song as the title track.

K. Michelle is now fully dedicated to her country music career as Puddin after fulfilling her contractual obligations with her final R&B album, I’m The Problem.

Released on Sept. 22, I’m The Problem included the hit single “Scooch,” which topped R&B radio and Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. The love anthem scored K. Michelle her first chart-topper on both charts.

Regarding I’m The Problem, K. Michelle told Rated R&B, “I’ve been healing through this album. I have dealt with my relationship through this album. I have dealt with my relationship with my son through this album. I have dealt with where I want to go in my future through this album. I’m at a crossroads in my life right now. So that’s what this is about.”

I’m The Problem also featured pre-release singles such as “Blame Yourself” and “Tennessee.” The official introduction of Puddin came with the latter song, which was written and produced by musical duo Louis York and packaged with a supporting video.

K. Michelle is set to release a country-centric EP and album under her new alias Puddin. It has not yet been announced which release will feature the song written by Dolly Parton.

Recently, K. Michelle expressed interest in collaborating with Keyshia Cole on a project. No other details have been announced about their collaborative release at this time.
